The seats on my 93 cc were dingy white with numerous stains and fading..I tried everything to clean them up with no luck.

I went to the local auto parts store and bought a can of Dupli-color vinyl and fabric paint. I figured "what the heck" I cant possibly make them look any worse. This stuff is great! My seats look like new!! My neighbors thought I bought brand new custom seats..Its a cheap fix, or custom look that is easy to do and looks great.

I will post some pics when I can..

Do it!! Its cheap and very easy!! I was done in an hour..All seats! I used the burgandy color on my beige or tan cart..Looks very nice..Saved a bunch of cash on custom colored seat covers.
Let me know what you think, if you decide to do it.
I will get some before and after pics posted soon. I am sure that will help in your decision

The pic sure showed me that I should have painted the plastic on the backrests black..oops...oh well, the next rainy day....
The before pics are of the back seat cushon, I didnt take before pics of the front seats, but they looked worse than the backs being that they are older..
I tested the vinyl paint on rubber and it worked just as good..I might do the rubber insert in my running boards..Think that might be a little too much?? I dont want to get carried away with the burgandy color..

I used Dupli-Color Black on my seats and have had to touch it up twice now. I even let the cart sit for a couple days to make sure it dried thoroughly and it still is wearing off. It could be something I did but I did clean the seats good before I sprayed it. To bad they dont make a good bonding agent or primer.Good luck.

I wish I wouldve asked before I sprayed the seats, but I may just go ahead and reupholster them myself.

To clean a seat you need simple green and a magic eraser. If it's really bad use a pressure washer on it. I have had good sucess with the three things above.

How is the re-color holding up. I need to change our white seats to a more natural color. We use it around the barn and for some pretty dirty work and white ain't the best color for a seat.

I buy and sell used carts, and I have found lacquer thinner used with a scotch brite pad to be the easliest and best at cleaning seat covers. It quickly takes out the dirt and mold and make them look almost new. If you buy the low grade cleaning thinner, you can get it for 10 to 12 dollars a gallon. It only takes a few ounces per seat. Only safety note, is dispose of your rags, and waste as soon as your done. You do not want fire hazard of refuse. When I first started, I tried the usual, bleach, simple green, asst other cleaners, and none will come close to cleaning up your seats as well as thinner.

The seats are doing ok. They can scratch if something sharp or edgy is dragged over them. I had half a can of the paint left over, so touch up is easy, and blends well. I think prep is very important with this product, I would use the method that HK94 uses to clean them before painting. I think they still look great even after a few scuffs. The old white seats just didnt add much to my cart, and new seat covers a waaay overpriced. I can buy cool looking seat covers for my car "front and back" for a fraction of what seat covers for a cart are. Doesnt make sense. So color them! And post a few pics..Before and after..
