Charging Receptacle

The charging receptacle on my 1997 Club Car, as well as the charging plug, become extremely hot while charging. The charger seems to be running fine but the batteries will not charge. This started all at once and was working fine before. Could the charging receptacle be at fault?

It could be the contacts in the charger plug and the cart receptacle. Clean them and make sure all you battery cables are clean and tight.

I borrowed a friend's charger and it is doing the same thing. All cables are new, clean, and tight. Will pull the receptacle out and clean the contacts and give it another shot.

It's possible you have one or more bad batteries to. If cleaning the contacts doesn't help you should test the batteries.
