Charging issues

I have a 2000 club car with 07 batteries. Everything was great until I was away for 2 weeks. I left my charger plugged in and now the charger is not turning on. I used my cart and when I plugged it in the charger did not do anything. I left it overnight and when I came out in the morning it was charging. I used the cart again and when I went to charge it.. nothing. I used a neighbors charger and when I plugged it in it immediately started charging. I have been reading about the OBC problems and I am wondering if this could be it or is it possible the charger is shot. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to Cartaholics.

It sounds like you have a bad connection on the charger plug, the DC cord or inside the charger.

Thanks for the reply. What would be the best way to diagnose loose connection? Could I have messed up the charger by leaving it plugged in? I am pretty good mechanically but have never dealt with chargers. How about relays and other components inside the charger? Thanks for the help.

It's probably just a loose connection but it's possible it can be a relay or something else inside the charger The best thing to do is look at it and see if you notice any loose connections. Try wiggling the plug in the cart and see if it makes the charger turn on. Check for continuity in the wires in the DC cord.
