Charging brand new batteries

Hello,
I just bought some new 6 volt batteries for my cart. I have an OLD charger "LESTOR" brand.
It's not an automatic. It's the kind with a dial knob you turn for how many hours you want, then it counts down and shuts off.
I have new batteries that I want to last. I do not want to OVERCHARGE them. I only have the analog state of charge meter which I don't know how accurate it is.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

Does the charger have a amp meter? Once it reads 0 another hour should do the trick.

Thank you for the reply "bad to the bone" I will check out the amp meter even though the needle on the meter tends to jump around a little. Thank you for the input.
