Charge Gauge Install

I just recently purchased a charge gauge for for my 36V cart. How should it be hooked up? I don't want the gauge to be active and pulling current all the time.

Is there a way to wire it up so that it only pulls current when the ignition switch is turned on? Just can't seem to visualize how to hook this thing up.

No instructions with it.

If it is one of the round analog gauges, it should have 2 connections, wire one to the ignition switch and one to the neg battery.
If it is the digital (LED) type, it should have 3 connections, wire one to the positive of your battery pack, one to the negative and one to the ignition switch.

It is one of the round analog gauges. I will try a preliminary wire up tomorrow before I cut the hole for it. Thanks for the help.

Doug,

Thank you for the assistance in hooking up the gauge. I installed it today and it works great. Every time I work on one of these carts I learn something new.
