I am a neophyte in this but want to know more. If I change to 6-1 ratio would a low torque spring help on the driven clutch? And if anyone has step by step instructions I would greatly appreciate the help

what are you trying to do with the cart? i dont think a low torque spring would be the way to go with 6:1 gear ratio.

Just wanted to let you know that your help was greatly appreciated. I changed the gears to a 6-1 ratio and nopw the cart will really go. I have come up with a new problem wioth the speed and that is the cart seems to want to go all different directions. It's like sitting on the back of a snake. Any suggestions on how to cure this problem. I'm running regular golf 8" tires and wheels. Would bigger tires & wheels help.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I got the gearing changed and it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be thanks to your help. I'v had a ball working on this cart and some of the upgrades are the gearing of course, custom steering wheel & column cover, carb jetting, new paint and now I have a set of Crager wheels & tires coming. The car has been spped checked at 32 mph. The only problem is at some time you have to pay for these things. Again thanks to everyone for your advice
