Cart Won't Take a Charge

I had to lend my charger to a friend for the past 5 weeks (long story there) and when I went to put it back on my 2000 48V CC, it wouldn't move. The needle, I mean. My cart has sat for 5 weeks sheltered, but in the extreme cold. Did me not having the charger on my cart fo rthe last 5 weeks mess anything up? Could my batteries be frozen? When I put it away in November, I topped off all the cells w/distilled water, so they are presumed still full. The batteries are trojans, bought new in 5/05. Any input on this? Thanks in advance!

You need to check the battery voltage. If the voltage is to low, the charger won't kick on.

Pull the caps off the batteries and make sure they're not frozen first. If that checks out ok test the pack voltage and make sure it's high enough to turn the charger on (36-40 volts). Make sure all the battery cables are clean and tight.

i've split the case on a dead one a time or two, i saw 61 below without wind chill once in fairbanks and them trucks would spin right over with engine heaters.

I am sure the voltage is too low to turn the charger on, but if you have 2005 batteries, you are going to be purchasing batteries very soon----especially if they have been allowed to loose voltage over the winter.
