cart lunges hard when starting to move

I have a 97 ezgo txt. When the cart is put into gear it wont move until the cart is floored and then it lunges very hard into gear. Also is there an adjustment or stronger clutch spring I can install as Im planning on using on very hilly sandy roads.

it's possible that you may need to adjust the tension on the forward and reverse cables. does it seem to snap into gear can you hear anything sound like it click or pops?

no. It goes into gear fine. It doesnt move until the engine is floored. Once the rpms are high enough the cart lunges at full speed in forward or reverse

sounds like the drive clutch is sticking, the bushing maybe worn or dirt got past the seal. i would also check the spring
