Carburetor settings

I just took apart and cleaned the carburetor in a 2000 club car w/290. It ran for about half a minute and then died. The plug is wet, so it's getting plenty of fuel. I don't remember what the adjustment screw settings were. Does anyone have any suggestions as where I should start with the carb settings.

i think the only adjustment you need to worry about is the air/fuel mixture......should be the screw with the spring.......i beleive you turn it all the way in and than out 1 1/2 turns to start and tweak from there.............if i,m wrong someone will correct me....................

The air/fuel screw does not have a slot to use a screwdriver to turn it all the way in. It has a thumb screw that only allows me to turn it 180 degrees (minimal adjustment). I played with it today and got the same results no matter where I set the screw. It ran for about a half minute before it flooded out. Should I be changing the oil ( smells like gas). I am open to any more suggestions.

No problems before the cleaning. After reading some posts that recommended cleaning the carb every once in awhile, I did. It hadn't ever been cleaned. Now I seem to be flooding the engine after running for about half a minute and then dying out, wet plug.
