I have a 48 volt Club Car golf cart and the cables are getting red hot when just driving around the neighborhood. The motor and the controller has been urgraded, but I don't remember smelling hot wires before. I have checked all the cable to make sure they are tight, all good. Any idea's ?

Are you still using the stock 6 gauge cables? If so they'll get hot with the motor upgrade and higher amp controller. You should upgrade ALL the 6 gauge cables to 4 gauge or larger. Also make sure ALL the cable connections are clean and tight.

From what you descibe it sounds like they replaced the cables with 6 gauge. If you had the work done at a dealer I'd go back and let them know your having heat issues.
