buzzer

'02 48 volt DS sitting here suddenly started a faint buzzing sound from the "reverse" buzzer in the dash. Just very quietly, though. Couldn't figure out what the noise was at first. Shifter is in neutral, key off. Same with key on or shifter moved (except into reverse when it operates at normal volume). What's up with this?

Welcome to the forum...

Try flipping the run tow switch to tow or maintenance wait a minute or so and flip it back to run. See if it still does it after you flip the switch...
