burned up microswitch, cart moves without pedal

couldn't find my exact predicament anywhere, so i'll ask in a new thread.

i have a late 80's i believe, club car, electric. it has one solenoid and the v glide.
late last night i smelled burning under the seat. and when i checked it out, it seemed the microswitch on the f&r was burned up. the solenoid still clicks, but the cart moves wen the pedal isn't pushed down. also, the cart seems to have juice when the ignition is off. where should i begin to look for the short, as i assume it is shorting out somewhere.

thanks- hearserider

hey, thanks for the input. i finally got it figured out.
the diode on my solenoid (which my cart doesn't actually need) had made contact with one of the main power wires on the solenoid. shorting it out and pushing too much current through my ignition and microswitch.
