Thank you. Got a lot done today wire harness in, steering column in. Ran and bled brakes, installed accelerator pedal and painted a bunch of misc parts. Tomorrow i order engine
I got some stuff done today wiring, longer brake cable for drivers side, made inner fender wells fit with coil overs. Oh ya tried to start engine and found out bendix wasn't engaging unless i am doing something wrong?See the red wire that was attached to motor. I hooked that to positive and ground the cylinder and nothing?Pulled the starter and jumped it gear just spins and doesn't move forward to engage?
Check the starter rotation to make sure it's spinning counterclockwise. If you have the wires connected wrong the starter motor will spin in the opposite direction and the Bendix won't kick out. It should be turning counterclockwise viewed from pinion gear end of the starter. If the rotation is correct it could be the Bendix is either stuck or bad.
I started the Briggs engine tonight bendex was sticking have a vid but won't let me upload it says its to long. But i am very happy and my sons face was priceless
That's good news, glad it was a simple fix on the starter. If you can, upload your video to youtube and if you copy and paste the link here it will put a thumbnail on the forum and will be able to be viewed without leaving the forum.
