brushes in 36 volt motor

I was wondering if anybody knows if a 36 volt motor has a set of brushes for forward and a different set for reverse I have no reverse have checked all connections and wires changed switches it is driving me crazy don't know what else to check
 
the brushes are the same for forward
& reverse, check your F & R switch or should
be the green cable attached to the center
of the battery pack
