Brake Lights Stay On After Stopping

Is there an easy way to disable the feature that keeps the stop lights on for about 2 minutes after you
stop and leave the key in the on position? My wife can never remember to turn off the key, so
the stop lights just further run down the battery. One tech told me that there was a capacitor
somewhere that powers the lights, can it be disconnected? 2008 Precedent Club Car.

If you disable it I think the lights will stay on until the brake is released or the key switch is turned off.

I ( HAD ) A WIFE LIKE THAT, she could sure remember where my bilfold was but couldnt remember to turn the ignition off and take keys out of her car? Many times I would find the car still running after she had been to a store etc. She almost killed the whole family when she put car in garage and left it running and we were almost killed by the fumes? Once when she came back from a shopping trip and found HER CAR gone she blamed ME???? When the stripped car was found the keys were still in it and turned ON like SHE HAD LEFT IT.
She went down the road 35 years ago.

I live in a golf cart community with three golf courses that are used continuously with golf carts. I know of no one that turns the key off on the electric carts. I have a one year old Club Car that the brake lights have never stayed on. A neighbor has a Club Car and the brake lights are always on when he stops. I don't think he has done anything more than think it odd and that something must be wrong. I always felt that they would go off after a period of time. I am going to do some more checking on this subject when I play with him next. Only occasionally do I notice a Club Car on the course with the brake lights on so I think this is not normal. I will report back after I have had time to do more investigating.

All the Precedents I've seen with factory brake lights have a timer on the brake lights so they will shut off if the hill brake is engaged. It's usually 2 minutes but I've seen a few that only stay on 30 seconds. Maybe they can be set for how long they stay on, or they have different timers. The timer is available through Club Car dealers.

the brake light are LED minimun power draw. the timer is built into the
brake light switch & is not adjustable. however in the 09 pres. a different
switching system is used to eliminate this issue
