Body lift for Jeep

Hey guys, I was thinking of doing a body lift for my wifes 99 XJ. Just a small one, not too big (it's our daily driver). I was just wondering about how difficult the lift will be, and will I be able to do it myself. I'm somewhat mechanicaly inclined, so I'm confident I can do it, but will I need more than one person?

Are you buying a body lift kit? If yes then if it's anything like the body lift kit we got fo my friends mountaineer then it should be easily installed in a day or so with the help of a friend

Well, I gotta run it by the wife first, but yeah, I want to buy a body lift kit and I'd really like to get a three inch suspension lift. I know she doesnt want the lift right now, but I'm gonna get her the vehicle she wants next year, so I can do some work on the jeep :) I was also thinking of switching to a 350, but I'm not sure how hard that would be but I'd really like to. I've been thinking of buying a 2wd XJ and tubbing the back and trying to but a 318 in it. No sure how hard that would be but I think it'd be pretty original

Wel, basically (and this is easier said than done), you separate the body from the frame and suspension, and insert spacers between the two. You have to remove all of the body bolts and reinsert them with the spacer like a big washer, and then screw 'em back in. Depending on how big you go, you will have to extend the steering linkage, brake lines, and sometimes mess with the radiator. My buddys often do the "hockey puck" method to save a couple bucks cause they're the same as the polyurithane spacers, and ride quality is still the same.
