BLINKERS AND BRAKE LIGHTS

Hey All, I've got decent LED headlights and tailights and want to add a blinker and brake light kit. I've been googling and amazon shopping for a decent kit. As soon as I think I've found a decent kit, then I find something wrong about it. Either quality or bad reviews, etc.
Can anyone make suggestions or vouch for a good product?
My rathers......
Good price.
Deluxe blinker assembly with indicator lights. A nice housing with a nice column cover.
Under floor brake light switch.
Good quality wiring harness.
Reliable control module.
Thanks,
Hog

What brand of light kit did you buy, IT HELPS TO GET THE SAME BRAND. Also I like the brake pad brake switch design.

Hey Zman, I bought the cart with the lights on it and don't know what brand they are. Here's where the mystery comes in (maybe you know exactly what I have). It's a '14 G29E, but it has a custom Vortex body on it. The seller didn't provide much in the way of info on the cart that he said he custom built it. I've determined that the body is built by DoubleTake. The information I found said that you had to use their light kit with that body. When I look up DoubleTake, all I can find is a website that doesn't function. When you click on the products, it takes you to a Red Hawk website.
It appears that the mother company of Red Hawk, Arrowhead Engineered Products, bought Custom Golf Cart Supply which is the mother company of DoubleTake and merged that into Red Hawk golf parts division. The Red Hawk site has a catalog that makes vague mention of a DoubleTake light kit for a Yamaha Vortex body. with no prices in the catalog. It appears you need to contact a Red Hawk distributor.
The more I dig into Google, some factory light kits appear on a DoubleTake site that look the same, and are listed for a Club Car DS, available in black or chrome. At first I was thinking I should buy a complete DoubleTake light kit to have spare head and tail lights in case the brand dissolves. But if they are the same lights as a Club Car DS then all I really need is the turn signal and brake switch stuff and harness.
I'm gonna include some photos of the lights hoping that you or someone here can tell me what lights I have. Sorry for writing a book question.
Thanks, Hog

Are there some connectors in the dash for turn signals and a connector near the brake pedal for brake lights?

Hey Zman, No. It only has simple wiring for headlights and tailights. No 9 pin connector, etc.
Since I started this thread I've found more information that is a problem.
I found a Doubletake Vortex light deluxe light kit listed through a distributor but they couldn't provide me with a photo of what blinker and brake switch assembly came with it.
So I contacted Red Hawk and they just blew me off with;
"We regret to inform you that the reason you’re having difficulty finding that light kit is because it has been discontinued, along with the majority of our Vortex bodies and accessories. As a result we do not have a picture to send to you of the complete light kit at this time."
So it appears that if you own a cart with a Doubletake Vortex body you are screwed because you can no longer get replacement lights for it(or a replacement front or rear cap because it is no longer made).
So I'm back to just finding a high quality blinker assembly and brake light switch and a complete harness.
But the plot thickens, I was measuring the headlights because I noticed they looked kinda like the Yamaha G14-G22 lights. Thats when I noticed the silver paint around the LED's is swelling up and flaking away from heat I suppose. So I will need to replace the lights at some point. But they don't make them anymore. GRRRR
I've noticed simularities in the Club Car DS lights, the Yamaha G14-G22 lights and most recently the Doubletake Phantom body headlights(the tailights are different). I'm looking at all available options now.
-Buying something close and robbing the LED assemblies to put in mine.
-Put my cart on my trailer and go from one cart dealer to another and beg to let me test fit the Club Car and Yamaha lights that look close.
-Buy a set of Doubletake Phantom lights to test fit and return if they don't(probably would have to pay a re-stocking fee of 20% if they would
even agree to the return.)
- Take the Doubletake Vortex body off and burn it and replace with a stock G29 body and lights.
Any suggestions?
It sucks that I was a sucker for buying a custom cart with a discontinued body style. I'm sure the dealer I bought it from knew all of this, but he just forgot to mention it. GRRRR

If it were me, and will most likely be in the same boat (2018 Drive 2 Quietec) with Rhox Delux kit some day, hopefully not , but wouldnt bet on it either. My headlights are so poorly aimed, thetci put small spots down under, giving me a beam to navigate on night cruises, and use the headlights spotting raccoon in tree tops. No adjustment available.
What you need to do is what I refer to is, Creative imagination, (cut & paste) in a professional style though. I had to do that to my rear seat, after receiving it for a different model Drive2, with the shipping box destroyed in transit. A lot of serious measuring before cutting & pasting. You would never know it now.
Fortunately, i have the full harness and switches should the time come.
Good luck in your quest

I wanted to update this thread....After moving on to other projects I re-visited the light kit availability. I found a Doubletake Vortex deluxe light kit still listed on a distributors website, so I took a chance and ordered it. I was quite surprised it was shown in stock and I received it very quick, drop shipped from the manufacturer. BUT....... When I opened the box, most of the kit was missing and one of the headlights had a lens broke off of the LED assembly. No wiring harness, no brake light switch, no headlight switch, no brake light delay module, no fuse block, no horn and no mounting plate. The broken headlight was real dusty and it was pretty clear this was a rejected return kit that had been robbed of alot of the components. I just knew that this was the last light kit for that body that existed!
I contacted the distributor, they contacted the manufacturer and we waited.......... after three days the manufacturer sent me another complete kit and told the distributor that I could discard the original scavenged broken kit.
I quickly received a new complete kit and almost everything is in the box. The fuse box and mounting plate were not included but I can live with it.
I bench tested it with a battery and all is good.
So....... They apparently still have some available, which contradicts what I was told. Maybe I got the last, last one? Or maybe the decided to produce another run?
So....... The taillights are indeed Club Car style because the box is marked Club Car, the headlights may also be from another brand of cart but the box only has the DoubleTake part number so I'm not sure about them.
Hope this helps anyone else in the future. PM me for the distributors name because I'm not sure if I'm allowed identify them because of advertising rules.

Any member can share their experiences good or bad with any product or vendor, if that vendor themself was on here trying to direct business to their website without becoming a sponsor that’s where the problem would be.

When red hawk bought double take they cut all the underperforming products and colors to maximize profit, there is no way in hell they went back and reproduced an obsolete light kit. You may well have the last one in existence, or maybe they found a whole case up on some top shelf no one’s looked at for 5 years, who knows if we’ll ever find out. Thanks for sharing and at least you got yours.
