Ok, I am looking at purchasing a Big Bad golf cart motor, the PQ Assassin. That is what was recomended on the other forums. What do you guys use, or recomend? I've seen some things about Netgain golf cart motors on the EV forum I go to. Any one use these? I don't even know if they have one that will fit my axle....

I have never used a pq motor. You probably won't get much of a response here about them. I know that alot of people run them and are happy with them, like I said I can't give you any hard facts about their motors. I do know for a fact that Jim at logisystems can build a tough GE d380 that will fly on 72v!!

What will you be using the golf cart for? Are you looking for speed, torque or both? I agree with cwayaustx on the GE D380. You can't go wrong with something from D&D either.

Yeah, sorry, I should have stated that.
It will be the motor in my new drag racing golf cart.
I herd all good about the PQ motor, and they have a good price point, but just wanted to see what else is out there be for I pull the trigger on it.

I have never heard anything bad from anyone who owned an Assasin. I dont know if Jim is still building the D380, I know last time I talked to him you could send him a D380 and he would band it, work the field and do some brush strengthening. I think one of the fastest and first drag carts that hang out here @CAH ran his drag controller/motor setup for a while??

I talked to Jim today at Logisystems. He says he still does it if he can find the motors. he said GE got out of the cart motor business and there gettin harder to find.
He also said his "race" controllers have no ramp up, and will be just as good as bypassing the controller.

YUP
He just recently started making an 800amp 72v controller with an ITS sensor, I would imagine this would be a pretty good controller for a good dual purpose type controller, his race controller is the way to go for strictly drag racing. I havent used one of the new 800 its controllers yet but have used quite a few 72v 5k-0 700amp Logisystems and had good luck for the most part. The ones I did manage to blow up he always hooked me up on the repair  :twocents:

Well I got a hand built one of a kind assassin motor that I paid dearly for.....This motor has but 0ne run on it....After sucking the life out of a 240 volt pack of lithium Ion batteries the motor fell back to a 72 volt boost of Odyssey ER-40's... 240-volts were trash by the 60 ft mark.... The cart still ran 65mph off of the 72- volt boost.....This motor is for sale. I no longer have the support nor can I trust Plum Quick to give me the quality that it takes to be comparative in this sport....& one more nore can I deal with a man that I am fixing to take to the cleaners....NetGaine does not have a motor that will bolt stright to an stock golf cart rear end. I tried talking to d&d motors about a motor for my carts.... they blew me off...
I will be racing a new motor come 2011 ....

There was a guy in Florida, I think his shop was called Grey Wolf, he supposedly built race motors. I talked to him once a few years ago then lost his number and have not been able to find any info on him. Have any of you guys in the Fl. area heard of him? I believe he said he built race only motor/cntrllr combo's.
