I am currently rebuilding a 1988 EZGO Marathon golf cart, and in the past couple of days things have started melting. I put brand new battery cables on it and two of them are melting. Not only are the battery wires melting a terminal on one of the batteries is melting also, MELTING!!!!! I am trying to figure out what I need to do, new battery wires, new batteries........

Melting is caused by dirty/poor/loose connections. Did you make the cables or buy them? Are you running a high performance setup at all? Give us some data to chew on...

First check to see you have your batteries wired correctly. How about posting a photo of your batteries and the wiring that is hot spotted.
