Ok gentlemen, I'll go out on a limb and start this discussion for real. I think we need to come to some sort of agreement about rules that we can provide to the tracks so they see that we have rules in place that are geared toward being safe. In my opinion, this can only help us to promote what we are doing with the tracks and hopefully encourage others to build carts and to join us.
Basic Golf Cart Drag Racing Classes and Rules
Stock: Carts running elapsed times of 13.00 or slower.
Stock body and chassis. Seats, steering must be in stock location and remain stock appearing. Wheelbase remains stock. Golf cart rear end mandatory.
Required safety items:
Long pants, long sleeves, closed toes shoes, helmet required. Seatbelts not required but encouraged.
Pro: Carts running elapsed times between 12.99 and 10.00.
Can be stock body or modified but must retain the golf cart front cowl and rear fenders. Wheelbase can be altered to 90” maximum. Center steer and center seat configurations are allowed. Tube chassis allowed. No suspension allowed. Golf cart rear end mandatory.
Required safety items same as stock plus these additional requirements:
Seatbelts, fire jacket, and gloves required. Arm restraints not required but encouraged.
Super Pro: Modified carts running elapsed times of 9.99 and faster.
Stock or modified wheelbase with modified stock or tube chassis. Center steer and center seat encouraged but not mandatory. Must retain the golf cart front cowl and rear fender panels. Wheelbase 125” maximum. Golf cart rear end mandatory.
Required safety items same as Pro plus these additional requirements:
Full roll cage covering the driver and 5 point harness required. Arm restraints and neck supports, fire pants and shoes not required but encouraged.
