Are there any welding experts on here? My question is this: I have a Clarke 130 EN 110 volt wire feed that I use in my garage. My Dad has a brand new Century 125 GL wire feed he bought 10 years ago still in the box. He wants to trade the welder for my shotgun but Im not sure which is the better of the two welders. Anyone have an opinion of which is better?

I am a weldor..22 years...I am not sure who makes the clarke brand, but I picked one up at a garage sale a few years ago..not a very good unit in my opinion. I sold it ..I have a 145 amp Century mig..It is made by Lincoln Electric right here in the good ol USA..It is their cheaper line sold at some big-box stores.. I have used the heck out of it over the past 12 plus years and have never had one problem out of it. I did wear out the gun..I called Lincoln and they sent me a new one. It was a Tweco mini-mig. A standard gun used on many name brand migs. Uses standard tips and sheilds and liners found at almost all welding shops..The Clarke was harder to get parts for, and the gun was cheap, the feed system was crap..Get the Century "Lincoln".Its better by far.
