I saw what looked like a Melex for sale today, but the manufacture plate read Model# 202 with a serial # but it stated it was assembled by Lew Montgomery, Inc. in Boca Raton, Florida. Anyone know anything about these guys?
I believe those carts were built by a company called Montex. The chassis is similar to Melex and the drive system is similar to EZGO. Parts are going to be scarce.
Thanks. It looked like a Melex, but I don't need another cart that you have to make parts for. Is there anyway they assembled Melex's or did they just make Montex's?
I am hoping that old Melex or EZGO parts will work. It looks a lot like a Melex. The big difference is that the motor mounts different than a Melex. It is in line with the axle instead of ata 90 degree angle. I will find out soon enough.
Some parts will fit/work, some won't. The electrical parts won't be much of a issue.
If the cart needs anything mechanical you will have problems finding bolt on parts but there's always a way.
Good luck with this project. Do you have any pictures you can post?
Actually the only part not interchangeable with the EZGo model 444 is the Steering wheel.
