adjusting front end question

Hey guys, just got a 04 g22 yesterday. Cart is in really good shape and runs good. I did notice looking at the cart from the front, when one wheel is straight the other is turned out a little. I'm not the worlds most mechanically inclined person, but i'm guessing i can fix this by adjusting the nuts on the tie rod?? Could someone give me step by step instructions how to re align these wheels properly.

Drive the cart in a straight line and set the parking brake without moving the steering wheel. Take a tape measure and measure across the front of the tires approximately half way up the tires. Record that measurement. Now move to the backside of the front tires and measure half way up. Find a point on the tires that is easy to measure from. New tires have a casing mark in the middle of the tread. Once you have the two measurements you can adjust the toe accordingly. Example: Front meas. is 35", Rear meas. is 34 7/8". This tells you that your toed out and the tie rods need adjustment. Loosen the jam nuts on the tie rod ends. Turn the tie rod outward 1/2 turn each side. Re-measure until you have the proper toe, turning both tie rods equal amounts. You are looking to be approx. 1/16" wider at the back of the tires on the Yamahas. You will know when you are very close when you drive the cart. The tires will climb slightly when going forward and squat slightly when backing up. If either climb or squat are extreme, you need to reajust the toe.

Hope this helps...

One last question before I get started. After i have my straight line locked in the drivers side wheel is straight and the passenger side is toed out a little, can I just adjust the toed out side until it is straight, without touching the drivers side?

You can't drive in a straight line with one tire pointing outward. Don't use the steering wheel as a reference for straight. Once you get the toe correct, you can move the tie rods equal amounts to get the steering wheel straight. It will take a little time, but it will save ya tons of life on tires if you get it very close.
