Adding 2 batteries

I have been told that it is possible to increase the power and speed of my 36 volt marathon cart by installing two more 6 volt batteries and wiring them in a special way that will require using the original 36 volt charger for charging the regular battery bank and a separate 12 volt charger for charging the two new batteries. Has anyone info on this and possibly a wiring diagram? Thanks in advance.

Is your Marathon cart Resistor or Electronic speed controlled? Very important issue here.

I am new to this but trying to learn as quickly as possible. I do not believe it is a resistor cart as I can't find any and it does have a controller which I think is not found on a resistor cart. Please let me know if I am wrong. Thanks.
