99 club car won't start

I just got a 99 club car and can't get it to start. I have changed the plug, filters, and gas. I am getting a good spark, I took the groung off the rev limter and had the same spark with it disconected as with connected. I have tried shooting starter fluid directly into carb intake but just an occasional backfire, mostly nothing. I have checked exhaust and there appears to be no obstruction, I am getting pufs of air from it turning over so I think exhaust is open and think I have good compression. Any ideas, I don't know a lot about them and trying to figure this out thanks

if you have spark and compression is good than take the fuel line off at carb and crank over just to see if your getting fuel into the carb if so then pull the carb and really go over it good................you need spark, fuel and compression for it to run so if you have spark, compression than you have a fuel problem..................................

took a bit to get back to work on it. Took carb off and cleaned and still will not start, even with starter fluid. Will not start at all, sometimes will try to backfire.. I would like any ideas anyone has.

check the compression, if your sure you have good spark and your getting fuel to carb...........after you crank it for awhile have you pulled the plug to see if its wet with gas? if not so that and if its wet with gas than check compression if plug isn,t wet than fuel isn,t getting thur the carb....................................
