'95 will not charge or move

I'm working on a 95 cart for my grandmother. Its the only way she can get around her yard. It quit working last week and would not charge. The batteries were dry. They were old also, so she bought a new set and had a neighbor install them. She call this week and said that it quit running and will not charge. I checked the batteries and found the voltage to vary greatly in all of them. Two were over 7 volts and three of them were in the 2.5 to 3.5 volt range. One of them read 0 voltage. I could not find any thing else wrong with the cart. I was thinking if it is possible that the one battery with o voltage could be shorted out and not allowing the cart to charge? Any other ideas. Thanks guys. Also, could some one direct me to an online service manual? I've look and can seem to find all but club car manuals.

If the voltage gets too low the charger will not come on. Charge each battery by itself with a regular charger preferably one with a 6 volt setting.I had a similar problem and it took almost a day to do each battery (on a 2 amp setting) but got them back up . That was 2 months ago and I have had no more problems. (Had a bad charger)

what voltage is the cart? 48 or 36 volt........it sounds like they hooked the batteries up wrong and further left at least one out of the loop................get a wiring diagram and follow the directions for hooking up the batteries and the charge wires.....and yes at this point you might have to charge them with a 12 volt auto charger....................................

Doughboy43, you are the winner!!! I had to exchange the one battery that had 0 voltage and install a new one. I then started to charge individual batteries until I had 43+ volts across the battery pack. Then the cart charger would charge and now shes back in business. Thanks for all the help guys. This is a wonderful and helpful site.

Wow!

I got one right for a change. I can't take credit though. I am just repeating what I learned here(and not repeating

some other things I learned). Glad you are riding again!
