94 EZ-GO Marathon Won’t Drive, Solenoid Just Clicks

I just recently purchased a 94 EZGO Marathon from a friend, it was run into a tree and damaged the front axle, but was driven into his garage and parked. We took the batteries out of it and loaded it into my truck and brought it home. I re-installed the batteries and charged it up overnight and checked voltage on all batteries and batteries are all good. I’m getting 38.2 v to the solenoid, out of the solenoid, to the controller, but not out of the controller. Controller is an old style Series controller. Can anyone help with this? I’ve checked for loose wire connections and didn’t find anything. I just find it odd that it worked, was parked, and now it doesn’t do anything but power the solenoid.

which controller do you have ?

Controller does not give power it gives ground, check for voltage on the controller M- lug against negative, with it in gear and the pedal pressed you should see pack voltage. If not you have an open circuit in the motor or FNR, it is common if carts sit around the brushes will get stuck in the motor. It will work fine at first because the brushes are still touching but as you drive it the surface will wear away and no longer make contact and now no more movement.

I have full pack voltage between M- and negative when pedal is pressed

I have from 0-5k on my potentiometer, gradually going from 0-5k when pedal is pressed. I have pack voltage at the key wire when pedal is pressed and key on. Think the controller is bad then?
You need to check your throttle has the correct resistance and you are seeing voltage input on the controller key wire, if those check out the controller is bad.

Yes, unless you have a bad negative wire on the controller. Check M- and right at B- on the controller, if you still have the full pack voltage showing then that means the controller is not powering up.
