93 ez go marathon

i have a 93 ezgo marathon that i use a great bit we ride it all over the neighborhood and we use it alot at the track to pull my sons jr dragster and i really like to now whats the cheapest way to get a little bit more speed and keep reliability. This thing is untouched all stock can i just upgrade the bats are do i need to change a buch of stuff i tired of these guys with these gas ones pass us on the return roads

My guess is your cart goes 12-14mph now, how much more speed do you need?
If you only want 2mph change the tires to 20" diameter.
If you want 30% more do a 48v conversion with controller, 4ga cables, batteries and a 48v charger.

yes on the 30% more so i can get buy with out changing the motor it will stand up what kind of a contoller should i look fro a stock 48v or aftermarket

Probably the best and cheapest would be an Alltrax 400 amp model.
Either the non-programmable NPX4844 (about $285) or the programmable AXE4844 (about $320).
Also a 4ga cable upgrade will help, ebay less than $50.

Programmable just allows you to change the ramp up and some other parameters. If this is a general purpose cart and you don't want to tweak it, it may not be for you, then again it's only another $35. IMO i'd get and if you ever want to change something later, you can.
