I have a 93 club car. 36 volt. The batteries all test at 6.2-6.3 volts. Solenoid clicks when trying to start, but won't run. Any thoughts?

load test the batteries....all it takes is one dropping under load and cart won,t move..........................

Thanks Shadowman
What is considered an acceptable drop in voltage when under load? Also
My f/r switch puts power to both sides of the switch whether in fwd or rvs. Is this normal? I tested the inputs at the motor and all four where hot.

well figure at 6.2 volts the battery is only approx 50% so you want them at least that under a 10 second load...........also even a clicking solenuiod can be bad so jack the rear up and get a peice of 6 gage cable and jump the large post on the soleniod than turn key on put in gear and hit pedal.......if wheels spin replace it............what brand batteries and how old are they? is water level in them good? distilled water only and it should cover the lead plates approx 1/4 to 1/2 an inch.................so try jumping the soleniod and making sure your dealing with good batteries than we can see about the F&R switch.......................................

My uncle is experiencing this same issue. We tested each battery are we have 6.28 to 6.33 and across the bank with 37 volts. I'm gonna watch this thread and see if we are having the same issue. RL

The solenoid was bad. I replaced and cart runs fine.

Thanks Shadowman

I also purchased a new f&r switch. It is different than the original. Two of the microswitches have 3 terminals instead of 2 terminals like the original. Also, the original has terminals on the side for the white and blue cables that connect it to the speed controller. The new one just has one terminal on the side. It does have a copper bar on the bottom.
Is this copper bar where I connect the white lead that went into the side of the old switch?

glad to hear its going......the micro switchs are fine you don,t use the 3rd spade .......can you post pics of the F&R they should be the same in every way as far as i know.........i think they gave you the one for a cart with resistor coils and not the one for a controller cart......they are different.........................................
