93 club car, engine turns over, wont go

just bought a 93 club car, was running fine, now i hit the gas, and the engine turns over and over, but the cluch isnt moving and the belt doesnt tighten up to make it drive. i have spark, checked the fuel pump, its fine, replaced the battery, is it my clutch? or any ideas?

It sounds like its not starting and just turning over on the starter. The clutches won't work until the engine starts. You say you checked the fuel pump but is gas actually getting through the carb? I'd give the carb a good cleaning first. If its getting fuel and spark the next step is a compression test.
