has anyone experienced intermittant backfiring
in a 1992 G9a yamaha Golf cart.
i think the throttle /carb is incorrectly adjsted
Maybe someone has an adjust procedure
i beleive it is the stock Mikuni carb.

thanks

make sure the butterfly in the carb is completely closed when off, you need to have the starter engage before the linkage starts to open the throttle

thanks, thats what i thought
it appears to be closed.
it may just be a mixture problem
the pilot adjust screw is all the way in and if i back it off any it will rotate
inside bore.
that cant be good

M buddy was ready to write-off this backfiring beast.
I had another look and thought there was something unusual about
the top of the Carb.
The last repair place had forgetten to replace the throttle return spring.
i confirmed from part list.
this was causing the the flap to stick, plus badly adjusted governer cable.

i am hoping to get the manual for the g9
on CD.
so that i can adjust to spec.

problem solved
Never give up
