Greets:

My '92 Club Car has intermittent spark only sparks for 1 second after the pedal is depressed. The plug was replaced, the wire is OK, the battery is good.....

I replaced the igniter, but, the problem persists.....

Now I am faced with replacing the RPM limiter, or the Ignition coil.......

Would anyone who knows offer advice: which is most probably the problem?

TY,

Rich

Welcome to the forum.

Try unhooking the ground wire from the rev limiter. If it runs then the rev limiter is bad.

Thanks to all who responded......

After disconnecting the RPM limiter ground, the spark in strong and steady.........

The cart hasn't run this smooth in a long while.........

With the current configuration, and, after a week of testing, the RPM seems fine........

So, I gotta ask: Is it necessary to replace the RPM limiter? I'm wondering if its required for proper function.....

If the governor is still at the stock setting you should be fine. Just be careful if your running down hill as that would be the only time you could over rev the engine if the governor is still set stock or close.

if you let a bunch of different people drive it i would want it on and working only because it dosn,t take a lot to do damage......if its just you than .
