92 club car clicks once but wont go

Hope someone can help.

I have a 1992 Club Car that won't move in forward or reverse. I brought it home from the course to do some clean up and discovered it wouldn't budge after I charged the batteries. When I discovered it wouldn't move, I checked all the battery cables and discovered quite a few were corroded. I replaced said cables and it still wouldn't budge. I did however notice if I left it on the charger it would go in forward and reverse on demand. I looked deeper and noticed the main power cables that were attached to an in-line fuse had corroded away. I replaced that with a 175 amp in-line fuse and it fixed the problem. Upon driving my cart out of my garage and down my hill, the bloomin thing decided to stop working again. Thinking I had purchased a fuse that was under rated for the power load and blown it, I took it off and attached the power cables directly to the battery....STILL no-go. I have checked over all my connections and can't seem to find any more loose or corroded ones.

When I press the go pedal the solenoid clicks once, but nothing more. I know the batteries have a good charge. Furthermore I tried to power the cart using the charger just to make sure and now it won't move with that either!

I really don't know what component to check first or how to ensure they are functioning correctly. Anyone that can help would be appreciated!

Just because the solenoid clicks doesn't mean it's functioning. Jack the rear end up off the ground.
With key off put a jumper between the two big terminal's of the solenoid. Now turn the key on and press the pedal and see if it runs. If so replace solenoid. If not then check the wires and cables around the F/R switch.

Ok. Jumped the solenoid...nothing. Also tried to take a reading with the multimeter and didn't have much luck ( not sure if i have the setting right on the multimeter ) but looking closely at the solenoid, it appears to already have a wire between the first big terminal and the second...is that right?

This is the solenoid. If you look at the bottom you will see the wire that is already jumped from the first big terminal to the second. Is that supposed to be there? When I took a reading from the left side of the solenoid to a ground I got a good reading. When trying to do the same from the right side of the solenoid to a ground I got nothing.

Did you jump the two large posts on the solenoid? Check ALL your cable connections including at the forward and reverse switch and motor.

I did try to. What gauge wire should I jump it with? I checked all the battery connections and cables and tugged on the rest. Nothing else seems loose..the only thing that seems a little loose is the connectors on the f/r switch..but it looks as if they are supposed to be to rotate when you change it from forward to reverse. I did however tighten them up a little bit. What kind of voltage should I be reading from those connectors?

I have two club cars and they are both doing the same as yours. Have you had any luck on getting yours fixed?

Welcome to the forum Hammer.

9 out of 10 times a cart that just clicks and doesn't move has a bad coneection, bad batteries, or dead batteries.
