91 club car gas

I have been working on restoring a 91 club car. i have completly rebuilt the motor and carb and it runs great while in nuetral. but when engaged in forward or reverse motor will not even begin to turn over. if any one has any information on why i would appreciate it.

Does the solenoid click when you try to start it in gear? How's your battery. How low does the voltage drop when you try to start it?

the selenoid does click and am not sure what the voltage drops to havn`t checked yet but doe not appear to have any battery drainage

Make sure all the connections at the battery, solenoid and starter are good. Check the voltage when your trying to start it in gear and post your result...

possible bad f/r switch also loosen your s/g belt just a little bit and try to start engine in gear.
