88 EZ-GO Ignitor

If the ignitor is bad, can you still have good spark at the plug? I have good compression in forward and reverse.( over 90 in forward and around 110 in reverse). Good spark at the plug, and fuel pump is pumping fuel. Cart will not start.

no Sir, the ignitor is good. did this just happen? if its been sittin' the crank seals may have dryed out

Happened all of a sudden. Was running fine and then just would not crank. I do not get many of these EZ-GO 2 strokes in my shop. What is this test I was reading about in this thread where you watch the battery voltage as you are turning the motor over? The reason I ask is that at rest the voltage is 12.8 to 13.0 but when you start turning the motor over it goes all over the place on the volt meter. It goes to 25 then 45 then 30 then 50. Very eratic. Does this mean starter/generator prob or is this normal? Also would this keep it from cranking? And Yes, I hear you on the crank seals, that is deffinatley a possibility.

Ok here is where I am at now. I figured out how to make it crank and run. If I hold my hand over the sucking side of the carb with just a small air cap it will crank and run. I understand that this probably means crank seals. Can the flywheel side crank seal be replaced without pullin the motor?
