86' Sun Classic Governor Swivel Joint

Hi all, I just picked up an 86' Sun Classic G3A with the two stroke gas engine that is missing #23 per Yamaha parts diagram.



Missing are:
26 90468-05112-00 CLIP
23 J10-14864-01-00 JOINT | LH THREAD
24 90170-05190-00 NUT, HEXAGON | LH THREAD
25 J24-14842-00-00 PLATE, CON ROD


Vintage Golf Parts offers an alternative via SP22-550 but the other parts such as retainer, nut and plate are NLA.

Will just the EZ Go swivel socket suffice or would I be better off beefing up this assembly piecing together components from McMaster Carr Socket Joints ?

The PO said it controlled the oil injection, so that statement at first threw me off once I started looking into it further. I was told this was the only known issue and it was running not so long ago. I traded some handyman services for it, I think I am ahead thus far.

The EZGO parts worked out well, belt was too loose, ordered a Gates from O'Reilly's that cross referenced with Mitsoboshi # J17-46241-00.
Fired right up after I drained old gas, fresh non ethanol and a new battery.
