86 Club car

First let me say that I know nothing about these carts but am learning quickly. The cart I have is a 1986 has brand new batteries. When you first start out it bucks pretty badly then as you push farther down on the accelerator it seems to smooth out. The cart overall is in pretty poor shape and was provided to me by my company due to a bad ankle injury. Any idea as to what would cause this and does it hurt it to use it that way?

86 would be a solenoid cart i think?

so i would say it has one or more bad solenoids, jumping into 2nd. or 3rd. gear .

My 1984 did the same thing and I replaced two solenoids, They were $35 each. My dealer suggested I change all five but I am too cheap. Sounds like it's not the one on the far left. I would start by changing the one next to that and work towards the right side
