When I bought the cart, it was loud and basically had no power especially going up hill. I replaced the drive clutch and belt. Cart got quiet and seemed like it had a little more power. Still lost power when going up hill. I have drove carts all my life and I notice that it doesnt feel like it "shifts down" like othe carts do when going up hill.Noticed that the motor mounts were jacked up so I replaced them also. Still does not have the power it should. I took the cover off the secondary clutch and sprayed it with WD 40. I am not sure if it is a carb issue or what. I am going to use some carb cleaner on it this week and I did change the fuel filter. All I know is that if I keep going at this rate, everything is going to be new. Any advice or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

jack drive wheels off floor or ground, remove seat, place in forward and slowly increase engine speed to full rpm's. do not hold at full rpm's for an extended amount of time. pay attention to the accelerator linkage is it allowing the engine to reach full speed ? if no then you may need to make some adjustments. as you may know normally the rpm's will increase and then decrease some when adjusted speed is reached. how about the govenor do you need to make any adjustments there. you said that the motor mounts had been raised and that you replaced mounts and the belt you may need to check the length of your drive belt could be the wrong length. may be worth trying these things before swapping any more parts.

I am pretty sure the belt is correct. Got it from a cart shop close to home. I actually went there just for the mounts but in talking to the shop owner, he said the belt that was on it could have been the wrong size. Bought the correct one. Also the govenor is disengaged. When we had the cart jacked up the last time (before the new mounts and belt), the belt would not go down towards the shaft on the secondary clutch. Thats why I tought there was an issue with the clutch. It doesn't wobble and nothing is loose. So I am hoping (for my wallets sake) all is well with it. I will be jacking it back up and will check the accelerator linkage and the compression. Thanks for the advice and ideas. Greatly appreciated.

sounds like you may not be turning up enough rpm's might want to check out your firing system also my grandson has a 4 cycle club car 1 of the plugs was not firing as it should the engine would start but would not turn up enough rpm's to even make the cart move. i know yours is 2 cycle but you never know maybe you will find something on that linkage. let us know might have to dig a little deeper.

I guess it is time to take it in and have someone troubleshoot it. I cleaned the carb, replaced the sparkplug and now I dont know whats going on. Thing wont go. Like it is either completely flooded, not getting fuel or spark. I checked the compression but not sure if we had everything hooked up right. Went to 50 and then went to zero without releasing the pressure on the gauge. How do I know what kind of rebuild, if any, I will need? If that is what it needs. I may just have to take it to the cart shop. What a money pit.

If the compression went to 50 then dropped to 0 without releasing the pressure on the guage it sounds like the guage may be bad. If it only has 50 lbs of compression thats your problem. Hard to say what parts you need until you get it apart. More than likely you need a complete top end, piston, rings, cylinder bore, hone or new cylinder.
