"84 Electric Club Car Question

I just purchased a 1984 electric Club Car and am very happy with the performance. There is a pull switch near the shift handle that makes the cart go faster. My neighbor has a similiar 1982 cart without that feature. Does anyone know how this switch works? Can it be added to the 1982 cart?

It sounds like someone installed a shunt on the cart. Shunts are very hard on motors. If you use it make sure your moving at full speed before pulling the switch.

After fifty people read this no one has a wiring diagram? How is this switch hooked up?

Its a shunt. It's not factory someone added it. It should be very basic wiring from the switch to a extra non factory solenoid and to the motor. You never asked for a wiring diagram you asked what the switch was. I would recommend removing it from the cart unless you feel like replacing a lot of motors. If you want to remove it just remove all the wires from the switch to the solenoid and the cable from the solenoid to the motor...
