I took the cart dragracing over the weekend and was having some starting problems when all of the sudden I felt something let go. A visual inspection tells me that something in the rear end broke. The govenor pulley( probably not the right term) rotates, but thats it. I changed the oil in the rearend a few monthes ago and everything in there looked amazingly good, almost new. I can't seem to find a diagram of rearend to help be see how the govenor is attached to the rearend. Hopefully its just a bolt or roll pin, you know --cheap. Any ideas??

So the cart doesnt move at all? Do both clutches spin when you try to drive the cart? Where is the "governor pulley" located? Can you post a picture?

Yes both pulleys spin but thats it, no go. The govenor pulley I'm referring to is the pulley attached to the rear chunk. I sure do wish I could find a service manual for an 83 but I'm not paying $60 cuz I'm cheap and poor.
