i have a buddy who has a series cart. he purchased a 600 amp programable controller and he wants to run 48 volts using a heavy duty f and r switch with a 10'' rim with a 22'' tire and use a stock 36 volt motor. years ago i ran a 700 amp with a 6hp motor with the same size rims and tires at 36 volts. i use to burn up f and r switches at least once a year. do you think my buddy is looking at the same problem? everyone he's buying from say he'll be fine but i'm thinking he is going to have some problems. before, he come knocking at my door. any advice i can give him. your input is important to me. thanks again for your time bcgc

It shouldn't be a problem. 4 gauge or larger cables, HD F/R switch and a good 48 volt solenoid like a White Rodgers and he should be good to go as long as his controller is rated for 48 volts and it sounds like it is.
