48 Volt 1998 Club Car DS Suddenly Runs Slow

I have a 1998 Club Car DS 48volt that will run fine then suddenly runs super slow even to the point that I have to push it up a hill. I replaced all the batteries because I bought it used 2 years ago and dont know how old they were. It did not solve the problem. Going up the hill it would make a clicking sound while in limp mode which I am guessing was the solenoid working. The only thing I did find is that one of the leads wires to the motor was hot to the touch but again it took me about 10 minutes to limp it to my garage while pushing it up a hill. Trying to see what my next move should be. One person thought it was the controller but being I already spent a lot on new batteries I want to get some consistent opinions before I buy another part.

You probably have a power drive plus there should be a solenoid with a coil of wire on the big terminals that solenoid is most likely bad

Im a novice to the this so just asking for clarification to the response what's the power drive plus? Is your thought that it may just be the solenoid?
