42 Volt Battery Charger

42v chargers are rare and to the best of my knowledge were only used on Western Carts. Westerns were nothing more than an Ezgo chassis with a custom body and 42v powering a 36v cart.
My charger is a 25 amp, Lestronic ll, model 14390. The current list price for this charger new is $646.

The UPS Quote I got was $39.41

WOW!!!, didn't realize the 42v chargers were so high, better rethink my desires for conversion to 42v. Seen this charger hanging in one of your pictures. What are you using now. Thanks for going to the trouble of checking.

I would do 150 if you would pick up the shipping, something for you to consider. Not sure how much i would gain from this conversion but would like to try it.

Your gain would be 15%+ in speed and torque. My stock 36v cart went 21 mph on 42v with the stock Ezgo fleet speed motor.
Sorry but I can't pick up the freight.
I have a lot of 42v carts in my area and these things sell for $250 used, if the number is too high for you, I understand.

I'm sure that is a good price, my concern is what else will i have to change to make the conversion. Do you remember what all you changed to go from 36 to 42?

I originally had a Curtis 1205 footprint controller so nothing else was changed other than to add 1 battery. It ran like that for 9 years.
Some 36v controllers will take the extra 6v but it leaves them right on the edge of the high limit cutoff.
What controller do you have? If it's a Curtis mounted vertically, the model and voltage is on the bottom facing the ground. Is it about 9 1/2" long or 6 1/2" long?

I just installed a new alltrax 4484es controller(400a), the one i took out was a ez-go with no numbers on it. It sat at an angle with a cover on it. I ordered a new solenoid(#586) to go with it. I just got off the phone with Chuck at EMP to see what all i would have to change, he said nothing just add a resistor on the new solenoid. If you still want to sell the charger I will take it. NOw how do we get together to finalize the deal. Tell me how you want to do it ,o.k., pay-pal,etc.
