I have a 2003 pds ezgo , i have a 4 in lift , 20in tires, running 8 - 6 v batteries 2 gage wireing , d&d es7651 motor, 400 alltrax controller, what would a 500 alltrax controller and 21in tires do for my cart?

No need to upgrade the controller, it won't do anything for you.
Your tire size upgrade may give you a 1 mph increase.

A 500 amp controller may get you a little better torque on take off and that about it. he bigger tires may increase your speed just a little.

I would guess that you are not pulling near 400 amps that the controller can handle. Especially when you figure that the voltage will drop probably around 30% once you "step on it".

Voltage pretty much determines speed, current multiplied by the voltage determines power. I kinda look at it like this (my general rule of thumb): Voltage has a direct relationship to speed, IF, you have enough power to push the cart that fast. (not taking into consideration all the relatively less effecting contributing factors there to which of).

thanks save me a lot of money. but can i change the mapping on the controller to help with the speed. like turn the turbo on and move the speed up to 80or 90 percent?

Why not 100%?

(perhaps there is a reason why not?)

I am not familiar with the motor. What is max voltage rating? Perhaps there is enough "room" at the max rating to add a battery or two?

Then disk brakes so you can stop? Then a larger motor to go even faster? Then back to your original question....... "yes"!

If the 400amp controller is programable yes you can. If it's not then it's where it's at. Which controller do you have?

If you have a lifted PDS cart, a controller upgrade will eventually have to be done. Most of the carts we do are a 400 amp AllTrax programmable, plus 4 gauge cables are a MUST!
