I recently put a D and D, high torque motor into my lifted, 98 DS series CC. I changed the battery cables to 4 gage. I am getting 17-18 MPH and a good deal more torque with stock controller. What will ( or should I?) changing the 4 cables from the motor to 4 gage do to performance, etc. Thanks.

You need to change all the 6 gauge to 4 gauge. It might help with the torque and keep from overheating the cables.
