Once you have the two halves loose, the fun begins

Put the crank verticle to the gound (Clutch side up), use some lumber or something to support the upper case half. Then hit it with a hammer... no overkill please

, use a peice of soft wood over the crankshaft... to hit.
It is a two part seal (if you will): Bearings pressed on to crank, bearings pressed into case. What your going to be doing is causing one of those to break apart.... sometimes, if you get lucky, they both separate (bearings and case).
