36 Volts or 48 Volts - Which Is Better

What is the difference between a 36V and a 48V other than the obvious 12 volts? This is in a 2001 model club car. Still learning.

If you are trying to figure out which voltage the cart is. 6 volt batteries have 3 fill holes, 8 volt have 4. 2 volts per hole x # of batteries = cart voltage.

18 fill holes x 6 batteries = 36 volt.
24 fill holes x 6 batteries = 48 volt.

It all depends... on what you're trying to do with the cart, or who you ask....
