350 Robin Engine Intermittent Backfire Through Carburetor

I have a Robins 350 that replaced a 295 that intermittently backfires through the carburetor on acceleration. This occurs when you let up on the gas completely and it starts to coast down and then try to accelerate. Runs great other than that. It is not a very intense pop but annoying. Has a new igniter, new carb, new fuel pump, new fuel, ignition to throttle plate adjustment is good, valves adjusted. Thinking it may not have the right jet size in new carb, but not sure that would cause this problem, it has plenty of power.

Sounds like possible throttle linkage adjustment to me. If the throttle plate is open too far when you let up on the pedal, unburned fuel will get into the combustion chamber and when you press the pedal again it will ignite that fuel and backfire. Solution is to make sure the throttle plate closes all the way when you let off the pedal by adjusting idle screw.
