This cart runs great then will suddenly drop out. Replaced the solenoid/contactor this morning and it did it again. Battery voltage 53.2, controller will flash 5 times. It does not flash pause, flash. Just does the 5 flashes. Resets with cycling key.

Update on this, you do not have to cycle the key for it to go again, just release the throttle. The controller will flash 5 pause 5 even though it has a new solenoid.

It's Curtis 1268
i am looking at a fault list that starts with 11 and ends with 55
5 pause 5 = 55

55 = solenoid bad

what brand and where are you getting your solenoids and what amps are they rated for ?

also make sure the controller connections are good
as well as the wires themselves, sometimes the crimp on connector will be a bad crimp

I also have the code list which is why I changed the solenoid. The solenoid is a WFLNHB 48v 400 amp. The new solenoid has less than two hours of operation. It is doing exactly what the old one did. I checked all the cables and wires while I was changing the solenoid.

So there was no change after replacing the solenoid or it worked fine for 2 hours and then started acting up again?

No change it just takes time before it will drop out. It isn't immediate like most bad solenoids. Even the old one would stay turned on for a while. When it does drop out and you reset, it drops out quicker.

is the cart stock ?
stock tires ?
what year and month are the batteries ?
how many batteries ?
how many amp hours are the batteries ?
how many volts on the battery pack when it does this?
if you dont have a volt meter get a cheap one from auto supply house 20.00
do you have a wiring diagram ?
look at this chart and check your batteries

It has 4 lithium batteries. Fully charged 53.2 volts. Doesn't loose power or speed. Doesn't slow down except when solenoid drops out. The man said batteries are 4 months old. I haven't checked for a voltage drop when it happens, I had left the cart when it did it again.

Are you sure it is not the battery cutting out? Have you actually measured voltage anywhere in the system? There is plenty of reading on this forum on the perils of multiple battery lithium setups. A main dropout code doesn’t mean the solenoid is bad, it means the controller saw input voltage drop. If a battery cuts out that would drop the voltage too.

Haven't measured when it cuts off. I haven't been with it when it happens. I will be back with it Friday, wanted some more information before I go back.
