2014 EZGO 48v Navitas 440 amp Controller Upgrade

Hi All - newbie here to the golf cart world and excited to dive in. My first upgrade to my 2014 EZGO TXT is a higher amp controller because it's painfully slow up hill - about 1/4 of top speed on a flat road. So I purchased a Navitas 440 amp with on the fly controller. I installed the controller per the installation guide and video I found on DIY Golf Cart but did not install the OTF yet. Controller install was simple enough, or so I thought. Existing F1/F2 on the old Curtis amp controller are labeled S1/S2 on the new Navitas but after googling I found in a few places that's just the way it is.

Controller installed, played with the app a little and it's not throwing any codes and all looks good. The drive test fails. It just kind of jumps in place and doesn't move. Still no error codes but I noticed the app doesn't read when the cart is in Neutral - when in neutral it reads as Forward. Maybe just a bug so I got back in and tried reverse because it reads Reverse correctly. Still just jumps in place.

What did I do wrong? Can I provide any additional information to the group?

Personality Switch was installed (the On The Fly controller wasn't. I only got it because it was a bundled price.)

Navitas part number is 10-000766

The model number (displayed through the app) is TSX_0570800047

Does your cart do better on the hills after this upgrade? Do you feel like 440 is enough compared to 600?
